I used to day trade. 4 AM alarms, charts before the bell, in and out of positions all day. I made money. I lost more than I should have. I learned the hardest version of the lesson — that being right about a stock is twenty percent of trading. The other eighty is what you do after.

I don't day trade anymore. I invest. Still risky — not a buy-the-index-and-fall-asleep person — but more patient. Longer hold times. Better positions.
